Upon your first visit to Direct Athletics, you will login with your assigned Username and initial password. (By now you should have received this information from Direct Athletics.) You will be prompted to change your password and confirm your email address. Each swimmer has a unique username and password so families with more than one swimmer will have to log on multiple times to sign-up all of their swimmers. After logging on, you will see the meets that are open and available for sign-up. Select the meet you wish to register for. After choosing your events, be sure to click on SUBMIT at the bottom of the page, otherwise they will not be registered. You will be asked if you want a copy of your entries sent to your email address.
Please choose to do so. Once the registration period has closed, you will no longer be able to view the specific meet information, but this information will be included in that email.
Please add info@directathletics.com to your email address book to be sure you are able to receive
confirmation of your entries.
Each meet has an entry deadline. Up until the deadline, you can log back into the Direct
Athletics system and change your event selection (be sure to “submit” your revised entries).
Please note the description section for each meet. This is where we will put entry
requirements/limits; identify the type of meet, fees, etc.
New this summer: STORM Swim Meet Prepayment Plan!!
No more logging into the Y’s site to pay for meets once you have registered for a meet with fees.
To purchase your swim meet prepayment plan follow the process listed. You only need to
purchase ONE plan for the entire family! Go to http://www.nmymca.org, select “Register for a
Program”, select “Swim Team” then “STORM Swim Meet Prepayment Plan” then “Log In” (if
you do not already have an online account for the YMCA you can do so here). Follow the
prompts, selecting the amount you wish to purchase and proceed to “check out”. We will get a
report indicating who bought a plan and in what amount for tracking purposes.
For a meet with fees, once the registration period ends, we will automatically deduct the amount
owed from your plan. If there are insufficient funds to pay for a meet, we will put the “balance
due” for that meet on your account at the Y and send you an email letting you know you need to
purchase another plan to use for future meets. There will be NO credits/refunds for missed
meets or missed events. STORM has to pay for entries on the day we submit them!
Charges for a typical swim meet with fees are: ~$3.50/event (usually a maximum of 5
events/day) AND a swimmer surcharge (this can be anywhere from $1 to $10). You must
purchase a plan for summer swimming as STORM will NOT be absorbing the costs of meet
fees for GSSA Summer Champs. Last year’s champs’ fees were $2.50/event and NO swimmer
surcharge. We expect this year’s fees to be similar.
Balances in your favor at the end of the season will be carried over to the next season or you can
choose to request a refund (in writing to Karen or Amy). Refunds will not be processed until
